Prior to taking up hunting, you must take hunter education.

Some states allow hunting for big game with a shotgun, but bird-hunting is the norm for this firearm. All hunting will require a lot of target practice, a lot of studying up on the proper gauges for the sport, and a SOLID understanding of your shotgun chokes and how your gun patterns. Pay close attention to everything that you learn in hunter education. It will allow you to have a safe and successful hunting experience.
