The way a projectile performs when shot from a firearm depends on the shot size, the materials used to manufacture the shot, and the type and amount of gunpowder. When selecting the ammunition for your shotgun, remember the following.

  • It is critical that you use the correct shotshell for your shotgun.
  • You should also consider the species being hunted, the hunting environment, and the hunting regulations.
  • With shotguns, check and consider not only the gauge but also the length of the shell. Some shotguns only accept certain lengths of shotgun shells.

Trap, skeet, sporting clays, self-defense and hunting are all applications in which you’d want to consider which shotshell is the correct load for you.
