Safety, especially firearm safety, is always front and center when a firearm is handled by anyone. It is everyone’s responsibility to always verify that a firearm is unloaded before handling it or handing it to anyone else to hold or handle. Even if you see someone check to assure the firearm is unloaded, you must do the same when it is handed to you.

Safety, ALL THE TIME, is the focal point of anything to do with firearms. Use chamber flags when handing firearms as an aid in firearms safety, and always practice safe firearms handling—even when you know your firearm is unloaded.
